Laser Hair Removal 101

Tired of shaving, plucking, waxing, sugaring, and other hair removal methods? You aren’t the only one frustrated with hair removal maintenance. Many clients that come to GOLDCOAST medspa are searching for a permanent solution to their hair removal woes. However, most clients are nervous about their first appointment or tell us they have hesitated for months or years before scheduling that first visit.

Laser hair removal has been around for decades, and the process has only gotten more efficient over the years. Here’s everything you need to know about the process, including what to expect during your visits.

You Have Options

Laser hair removal offers clients multiple options, including where on the body they would like to focus on and what type of treatment they would like to use. Currently, the team at GOLDCOAST medspa only uses FDA approved lasers including the Cutera® CoolGlide YAG and Syneron® GentleMax Alexandrite|YAG. Having more than one laser option allows us to provide the best results and experience for clients with varying skin tones.

You Should Ask Questions

We never want any client to feel overwhelmed or worried about a procedure, which is why we are readily available to talk on the phone or over email about any questions or concerns you may have. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation before committing to laser hair removal treatment. This gives you the opportunity to meet with one of our professionals and talk more about your needs. It also allows us to see if your hair type will be able to be targeted during treatment.

You Need More Than One Appointment

Laser hair removal treatments need to be performed every 4-10 weeks to ensure we eliminate all hair follicles. Why does it take so many treatments spread out with weeks in between? Only 10-30% of your body’s hair follicles are in a growth phase at any given time. We want to be sure we eliminate 100% of them.

You Can Resume Normal Activities Immediately

Laser hair removal treatment sessions are relatively quick and you can resume normal activities immediately. You can expect slight redness or swelling after a treatment, but it will not last long.

Now is the perfect time to get started on laser hair removal, as you’ll be ready to rock that bikini or those shorts by spring break. Call our team to get started!
