What is Microneedling
Microneedling is the process of producing thousands of tiny skin punctures to the skin. This procedure stimulates the skin’s natural healing process.

How Does SkinPen Work?
Designed to work without chemicals, heat or stress —SkinPen uses fine needles to create micro-openings in the skin. This manipulation in turn naturally remodels the skin.
This minimally invasive treatment significantly improves the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, skin laxity, collagen and elastin production, scar revision, stretch marks.
The science can be broken down into 3 phases for better understanding
SkinPen’s micro-needles pierce the skin increasing blood flow. Immune cells work to clean and disinfect the area setting the stage for repair. This stage helps prepare the skin to rebuild with fresh, healthy cells
The micro-wounds created by SkinPen multiply new skin cells to replace the damaged ones, while collagen and elastin fibers start to form. This stage builds a fresh foundation of skin tissue giving it renewed strength and elasticity
This final stage supports the skin’s natural regeneration process, revealing skin that looks healthier and rejuvenated.
What to expect
- Before treatment: Topical anesthesia (numbing cream) will be administered on the treatment area by your service provider. The time for numbing to take full effect is anywhere between 15-20 mins. PRP (platelet rich plasma) add on – blood will be drawn from your arm and then spun in a centrifuge so the PRP “liquid gold” can be separated from the red blood cells.
- During treatment: After numbing cream has taken full effect and the skin is prepped for procedure, your service provider will gently make 3 passes over your skin with the SkinPen microneedling device. PRP (platelet rich plasma) or synthetic hyaluronic acid is used as the lubricant. As micro needles create micro channels in the skin, patients typically feel light pressure but no discomfort or pain.
- After treatment: Most patients will leave with slight redness “sunburn look” on the treated area. This subsides after 2 days. Other common treatment responses include dryness, tightness, photosensitivity and flaking.
- For up to 24 hours post treatment – application of Lift HG Hyaluronic acid
- Post 24 hours of treatment – Lift HG Recovery cream application
